Summary

Spring MVC Framework 4.x still supports single and multiple file uploading using the MultipartFile class. Anyone can start creating a file manager, or a personalized document repository, in their own portals, using the steps provided by this chapter. Since the EDMS is a prototype, this still has to be upgraded by adding some ECM features with security.

The next chapter will introduce how the Spring Framework can store data into a relational database management system. The PWP and EDMS can use database management systems to store their data and metadata. We will have an in-depth understanding of how to go about data connectivity in Spring Framework 4.x in the next chapters
